Continue its indefinite protest
Jammu, August 30:
Members of Yuva Rajput Sabah (YRS) continued their indefinite protest outside Maharaja Hari Singh Statue. The agitators demanded to the government should decleared 23 sept as holiday. YRS also alleged that the BJP led previous government promised to fulfil the demand of holiday but failed to do so. YRS also continue their chain hunger strike on 8th consecutive day and demanded holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh Ji birth anniversery. YRS who sat on hunger strike today were Rajan Singh Happy (President YRS), Surinder Singh Gilli (Ex President YRS), Mukesh Singh (Sr. Vice President), Vishal Singh (Vice President YRS), Sumit Singh (Vice President YRS), Bhanu Partap Singh. In a statement issued to mercury times, addressing the media, Rajan Singh Happy (President YRS) emphasised that it was the just hope and aspiration of the people of Jammu province that the authorities in the UT of J&K, which in 2020 declared the Accession Day on October 26 a state holiday, will also appreciate Jammu’s sentiment and declare Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday, September 23, as a state holiday.
Surinder Singh Gilli expressed the hope that the authorities will look all these facts in the face and declare September 23 as a Holiday in thememory of Maharaja Hari Singh. He warned the authorities that they would face the wrath of the enraged people of Jammu province if they failed to appreciate and concede their demand.
YRS Cautioned the Govt for facing natural and probable consequences if demand for Holiday on 23rd September is not conceded soon. EkJutt Jammu Ashwani Sharma, Dastey Maadatghar Imran Sheikh, Rashtriy Hindu Vahini Viney Hindu also joined Dharna and gave extended support to Yuva Rajput Sabah. Students of GGM Science college held a stronge protest demonstration in the support of YRS under the leadership of Rajveer Singh Manhas (Secy. YRS), Aman Salathia and Yuvraj Singh. Peoples of R S Pura, Akhnoor, Thathi and Udhampur also held protest in support of YRS.
