LG Sinha’s special appeal to the people of J&K, ‘Wave the tricolour not only on rooftops, but also in hearts’

Srinagar, August 12:
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to carry forward the spirit of patriotism, unity and service to the nation.

He said that the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign has become a mass movement of national consciousness and it should become an enduring tradition of love for the motherland.
Addressing the Tiranga Mahotsav celebrations at the Botanical Garden in Srinagar, LG Sinha said that Jammu and Kashmir should continue to lead the country in the next phase of the Vande Mataram campaign. He also appealed to the citizens to work harder to maintain this achievement.

The Lt Governor also emphasised on the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram and said that the song reflects the immortal voice of the soul of the country, recalling its role in instilling national consciousness, guts, self-confidence and self-respect during the freedom struggle. He congratulated the people of Jammu and Kashmir for participating in the Vande Mataram campaign and said that their efforts have become a source of inspiration for the entire country.

The Lt Governor said that Har Ghar Tiranga and Vande Mataram should also inspire citizens to contribute in making India of the dreams of freedom fighters.

Sinha described the ongoing campaign as more than two national initiatives, describing them as “heralding a new era.”

He appealed to the people to promise that the tricolour should remain high not only on the rooftops of Jammu and Kashmir, but also in their thoughts, character and actions.
