Jammu, March 31:
The bodies of two of the three friends who drowned in the Tawi river near Sainik School in Nagrota were recovered by rescue teams on Monday.
The search for the missing third teenager continues. On Sunday, five teenagers went to bathe in the river.
According to police officials, Bavish Kaul (15), Sonam Dutt (16) and Aditya Pandit (15) of the Kashmiri Pandit community living in Jagti Colony. They were swept away in the strong current near Nagrota Sainik School.
As soon as the accident was detected on Sunday evening. The teams of police, NDRF and SDRF started the rescue operation.
The search operation was also carried out under the light of a torch at night. But the operation had to be stopped at around one o’clock in the night as nothing was found. The search operation resumed at seven o’clock on Monday morning.
Parents and relatives wept as soon as they saw the body. The parents of those whose bodies were found returned home. But the family members of the missing Sonam Dutt stayed on the banks of the Tawi till late in the night for hope.
The bodies of the two teenagers have been taken to the GMC for post-mortem. The funeral will be held in Purmandal on Tuesday morning.
