Jammu, September 4:
In Bari Brahmana Industry Area, two masked robbers threw chilli powder in the eyes of a person riding a scooter and fled after snatching Rs. 60,000 from him.
Hearing the victim’s screams, many people rushed to help but the robbers fled from there. The victim has been identified as Pawan Kumar, resident of Digyana Jammu.
Narrating his ordeal, Pawan Kumar said that I needed money. I contacted my friend Rachpal Bhagat and asked for his help. On his call, I came to his house in the upper area of Bari Brahmana, Industry Area to take the money. Rachpal gave me 60 thousand rupees as help. When he was going to see his plot after putting the money in the bag, I got a phone call.
Two young men came on a motorcycle and asked me for someone’s address. In the meantime, the young man got off the motorcycle and came towards me and threw chilli powder in my eyes. As soon as the chilli powder entered my eyes, I started writhing in pain and started screaming loudly.
During this time they snatched my bag and ran away. I had 60,000 rupees in the bag and my land papers etc. were also lying there.
Meanwhile, Bari Brahman police was also informed. The police team reached the spot and tried to collect evidence from all sides but due to the absence of any CCTV camera nearby, it was not possible to identify the robbers.
