Snowy waves spread fear after avalanche in Sonamarg

Srinagar, March 6:

An avalanche occurred on Wednesday in Sonamarg, a tourist spot in Ganderbal district, but there is no report of loss of life or property. A BRO official said that people living in the last village of the district, Sarbal, located some distance away from the avalanche, panicked after seeing the heavy waves of snow. Meanwhile, the weather remained clear in most parts of the state. According to the Meteorological Center Srinagar, there may be rain and snowfall in some parts of the state on March 10.

In the capital Srinagar, the day temperature was recorded at 14.1 degrees Celsius amid clear weather. The maximum temperature in Pahalgam was 10.4 and in Gulmarg it was 4.4 degrees Celsius. Jammu remained sunny throughout the day. Here the maximum temperature was 23.2 and the minimum was 6.5 degrees Celsius. It was 21.5 in Katra and 15.0 degrees Celsius in Bhaderwah. In Leh, the day and night temperature is below zero degrees.
