Jammu, August 6:
Kargil has always opposed the idea of a union territory. Sajjad Kargil says, in any democracy a union territory gets the status of a state. For the first time a state has been converted into a union territory. That too against the will and consent of the people of Kargil, he added.
The people of Ladakh have been betrayed where the public feels that even after 6 years. There are no jobs, no democracy, policies are being made without involving the Ladakhi people.
Sajjad categorically stated that this is a failed decision of the Govt of India. He said this is the worst day, when democracy is taken away from the people, it becomes a black day.
He said that the KDA took cognizance of this and held an online meeting of the core committee members. It was agreed to hold some protest before August 15. The dates will be announced on August 6.
