Students and Staff of Govt. Degree College Chatroo under the aegis of NSS Unit of the College celebrated Constitution Day also known as Samvidhan Divas to mark the adoption of constitution by the people of India.
The whole event was organised under the able guidance of Dr. Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi, Principal of the College and overall supervision of Dr Ashaq Hussain. In his address to the students Dr Rafiqui urged the students to read the different Articles and Schedules of the constitution and value it as it protects us from all the adversities. He also insisted that every student should inculcate fraternity, equality and justice among them.
While speaking on the occassion Dr. Ashaq Hussain added that the Constitution of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949 and came into effect on January 16, 1950 he also explained the significance of the Constitution of India to the students. While paying tributes to the architect of the Indian Constitution, .Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Dr Ashaq spoke on the framework of the Constitution and focused on its role to bring the citizens of India together.
On this occassion All the students, Principal and staff members of the college took a pledge on to maintain the equality, fraternity, sovereignty and integrity of the nation. The Pledge was administered by Dr. Jaswant Singh Physical Director of the college.
