Jammu, May 6:
Jammu and Kashmir’s separatist leader Shabbir Ahmed Shah has been arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in an old case.
The action is related to a 30-year-old case. Shabir Shah was arrested by the NIA’s Srinagar branch. Then taken on a three-day transit remand from Delhi’s Patiala House Court.
After which he was taken to Jammu and Kashmir. The arrest was made in connection with the 1996 attack on policemen, in which Shabir Shah is accused.
It is worth noting that Shabir Shah was granted bail by the Supreme Court in March this year in a NIA case.
Apart from this, on March 28, the Patiala House Court had also granted him bail in an ED case. After getting bail recently, he has now been arrested again in an old case.
The court has asked to appear again in the next date after 6 days.
