New Delhi, February 23: Amid the US Agency for International Development (USAID) funding controversy, the Finance Ministry has made a big disclosure. The Finance Ministry has said in its annual report that in the financial year 2023-24, the US agency funded seven projects worth US$ 750 million. But none of these projects are related to elections or increasing voting. The Finance Ministry said in its annual report that currently, in partnership with the Government of India, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) has funded US$ 750 million for seven projects. While a total obligation of US$ 97 million (about Rs 825 crore) has been made by the agency under seven projects for the financial year 2023-24. The Department of Economic Affairs of the Finance Ministry has also provided information about the projects in the report. Under this, the US agency funded agriculture and food security programs, water, sanitation and health, renewable energy, disaster management and health-related projects. While no funding was done for increasing voting or related to elections. The report also said that the agency has promised to fund forest and climate-friendly programs and energy efficiency technology commercialization and innovation project. India started receiving help from America in 1951. So far, India has received help of Rs 1700 crore from USAID for 555 projects. President Donald Trump had said that why do we need to give $21 million to increase voting percentage in India? I think they (Biden government) wanted someone else to be elected in the election.
