These days, there is a ruckus going on in Maharashtra regarding the tomb of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal are demanding the removal of Aurangzeb’s tomb. These organizations are putting pressure on the state government. On the other hand, Congress is targeting the state government by calling it an attempt to divert attention from the real issues. BJP MLA from Telangana T Raja Singh is very vocal about the removal of Aurangzeb’s tomb. He is constantly raising this issue on various platforms. During a program in Pune, T Raja Singh also demanded the removal of Aurangzeb’s tomb.
In a program organized in Pune on Sunday, BJP MLA T Raja Singh said that ‘Hindus of Maharashtra want Aurangzeb’s tomb to be removed from the state. When will Aurangzeb’s tomb be demolished? Now I have only two objectives, one to make India a Hindu nation and the other to remove Aurangzeb’s tomb.’
In Nagpur, Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Maharashtra and Goa regional minister Govind Shende said that ‘Today we will protest on this issue. He (Aurangzeb) killed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj after torturing him for 40 days. If someone worships that ruthless ruler and considers him his hero, then this is not acceptable. Our demand is that the symbol of slavery be removed. Why should any symbol related to him be here? Those who have been in power till now did nothing due to the politics of appeasement, but now this will not work. We will protest all over Maharashtra regarding this, after that we will go to Sambhajinagar. It will take some time, whatever right step is for the community will be taken.’ (Agencies)
