J&K Budget 2026: Trekking-hiking promoted in Jammu and Kashmir

New Delhi, February 1:
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced several important proposals related to tourism, sports, urban development, agriculture, health and education during the budget speech on Sunday.

Mountain trails will be developed in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Arakku Valley of Andhra Pradesh.

The scheme will cover 15 centres across the country, including the Leh Palace will be developed as a major archaeological site.
The government has announced the establishment of Khelo India Mission.

Under this mission to run for the next 10 years. The modern training centers will be built. The coaches and support staff will be systematically trained.

The competitions and sports leagues will be organized at the national level.
