Jammu, June 9:
The scorching heat of June has started to show its fierce form in the plains and hilly areas of Jammu division. After the first week of June passed with relief, Sunday was the hottest day of this season and the mercury reached 42.7 degrees Celsius.
The sky is scorching with the heat in Jammu. The situation is the same in other plain areas of Jammu. To escape the heat, many people took shelter under the shade of trees and water sources in the afternoon.
A large number of youth kept playing in the icy water of Ranbir Canal. The heat had started showing its effect since morning. Hot water was coming from the water tanks installed on the roofs, so the heat waves kept making people miserable till late evening.
