Illegal foreign nationals did not get bail, court said- national security comes first in such cases

Jammu, August 8:

The court of Additional Sessions Judge Kamlesh Pandita of Udhampur refused to grant bail to three Myanmar citizens living illegally in the district. The decision has been taken under the special campaign against illegal immigrants in the district.

While filing the bail petition, Mohd Zubair, Nazimullah and Harum Mohd of Myanmar had said that they have UN identity card. They are not involved in any criminal case. Additional Public Prosecutor told the court that the Special Investigation Team constituted on the orders of the Home Department. It has marked them along with eight other foreign nationals in the list of people living illegally in Udhampur. According to the police report, the three accused have been taken into custody. They sent to the holding center in Hiranagar of district Kathua. From where they will be sent back to their country under the legal process.

The court said in its order that all three persons entered the Indian border without valid documents. In the present circumstances, this can become a threat to national security.

The court said that control over their activities is necessary in the interest of national security. With this the petition was dismissed.
