The country has to shed its colonial mindset to become a global leader in innovation, Vice President C P Radhakrishnan said at University of Kashmir on Thursday.
He urged the students to adopt indigenous innovation and solutions based on Indian resources.
The Vice President said that as a graduating student, I urge all of you to focus on indigenous innovation. The solutions based on Indian knowledge, resources and needs.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the country more vibrant and collaborative than ever before.
Referring to the COVID-19 pandemic, he said that the Prime Minister had called upon all the scientists in the country to develop a vaccine for the pandemic.
He said that Indian innovations have also found wide acceptance in the western world. It is your initiative, interest, enthusiasm and hard work that will take you to the top of the world.
Radhakrishnan said that recently the central government has approved the development and expansion of Srinagar International Airport at a cost of more than Rs 1600 crore. He said that our Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has talked about tourism expansion, but it should be taken forward without affecting the ecosystem of our great state. The Chenab rail bridge over the Chenab river is an amazing achievement, which is the highest railway bridge in the world.
