Udhampur, August 14:
A clash broke out between members of the Village Defence Guard (VDG) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Friday, police said. One VDG member was killed in the incident, while another was seriously injured.
The VDG members were on their way to the Dumnot police post. During this time, there was an argument and scuffle between them about something. It is alleged that Surjit Singh, a resident of Sasari Dumnot, fired at his accomplices in anger.
Baldev Singh died on the spot in the firing, while Romesh Singh was seriously injured. As soon as the incident was reported, the police team reached the spot and started investigating the matter. The police have launched a search operation to nab the accused.
