Situated at an altitude of 9,150 feet above sea level in Dhadkai village in Doda district. This year’s Independence Day celebrations are something special. Three sisters of this remote village, called the Silent Village of India, have set such an example of patriotism without saying a word, which has painted the entire village in the color of the tricolor.
Reshma Bibi (26), Parveen Kausar (24) and Saira Khatun (22) are unable to speak or hear. Despite this, he insisted on getting cloth from his father to make the tricolor. The sisters even refused to eat until they got a cloth. Eventually, their father Reham Ali brought cloth from the market, after which the three sisters started stitching the tricolour.
According to the locals, they knew about the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign from the year 2022. But due to the inhospitable geographical location of the village, the campaign had not reached Dhadkai-Bi till now. “The four-year wait to see the tricolour hoisting on the rooftops of the village is finally over,” said local resident Jamaat Danish. Now the tricolor is visible on almost every roof of the village and children are seen roaming proudly with the national flag in their hands.
