Jammu, November 27:
A major road accident occurred this morning on the National Highway near the Bari Brahmana vegetable market in Samba.
A superfast bus traveling from Jammu to Kathua collided with a flyover pillar while trying to save a motorcyclist, injuring approximately 20 people. The injured were immediately rushed to AIIMS and Shri Om Hospital, where one person died during treatment.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident was so severe that chaos erupted at the scene. Locals and police worked together to transport the injured to the hospital. A large crowd gathered at the hospital, and family members were in a state of panic.
The accident reportedly occurred near the Bari Brahmana vegetable market when a biker was crossing the road. The bus driver attempted to save the biker, resulting in the bus crashing into a flyover pillar. A total of 20 people were injured in the accident, three of whom suffered serious injuries. Police have launched an investigation.
