The residents of the Union Territory of Ladakh will celebrate the 90th birthday of Dalai Lama for two days. They show enthusiasm for the Buddhist religious leader’s nearly one and a half month long Ladakh tour. Dalai Lama is coming to Ladakh on 12th July.
Preparations are in full swing to make the Ladakh visit of Buddhist spiritual leader and 14th Dalai Lama a success. On Saturday, preparations for celebrating the birthday of Dalai Lama at Jevetsal in Shey area of ​​Leh will be finalised.
At present, the Ladakh administration, Ladakh Buddhist Association and Tibetan Sonamling Settlement are jointly preparing to make the Dalai Lama’s visit to Ladakh a success. Earlier, the Dalai Lama had come to Ladakh in 2023.
On July 6, traditional clothes, Khatak will be offered to the portrait of Dalai Lama at Jevetsal in Shey area of ​​Leh and wishes for his long life will be made. Dalai Lama’s birthday programs will be held at some other places in Leh district as well. On July 7, colourful programs will be organized in Leh to celebrate Dalai Lama’s birthday. Ladakhis, Tibetans living in Leh along with tourists will participate in these programs.
