Jammu, June 15:
On Narwal-Sidhda road of the city, some youths travelling in a car hit a policeman while trying to escape after breaking the check post. The police personnel immediately chased the car. During this, the youths travelling in the car parked their car on the side of the road and fled towards the forest. The car has Chandigarh number plate. The injured policeman was taken to Gandhinagar hospital, from where he was referred to GMC.
SHO Baghe Bahu Ashwani Kumar said that on Sunday night at 8 o’clock, police personnel were stopping vehicles and checking them at the check post on the road going from Baghe Bahu temple to Narwal. During this, the police personnel signaled a car going from Narwal to Siddhra to stop. When the police personnel started going to him for questioning, the car driver suddenly started the vehicle.
The policeman somehow saved his life, while the youths fled from the spot along with the car. The SHO started chasing the car along with some police personnel. At some distance from the check post, the police personnel saw the car parked on the side of the road, while both the youths riding in it had fled from there. The police is now trying to find out about the youths riding in the car on the basis of the car number.
