Jammu, March 21:
The Traffic Police Headquarters has issued a new advisory for March 21, 2026 in Jammu and Kashmir. The passengers have been advised to travel cautiously and know the condition of the road before traveling.
The speed of traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) was slow during the last 24 hours.
People had to face problems due to the one-lane road between Marog and Kistawari Pathar.
The traffic department has said that travel on this highway should be done during the day time. Avoid travelling at night, as the danger may increase due to falling stones.
However, light vehicles, passenger vehicles, private cars and goods vehicles will be allowed to ply in both directions — from Jammu to Srinagar and from Srinagar to Jammu.
The weather and road conditions are favourable. For this, the Traffic Control Unit will be in constant touch between Jammu, Srinagar and Ramban.
Convoys of security forces will also be allowed to move from both sides. They will have to first take stock of the road situation.
The traffic police have appealed to the people to walk in the lane and not to overtake or drive in the wrong direction.
Before going on the journey, it is said to be necessary to get the latest information about the road from the Traffic Control Unit.
