Jammu, October 9:
Shagun Parihar has won from Kishtwar assembly seat of Jammu division. The special thing is that Shagun is the only woman candidate of BJP who has won. She defeated National Conference candidate Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo by a margin of 521 votes.
Shagun said that I bow down to the people of Kishtwar who put their trust in me and my party. She said that I wholeheartedly appreciate the support of the people and I am overwhelmed by this support. I will work towards the security of the region.
BJP candidate Shagun Parihar got 29053 votes. While Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, who came second, got 28532 votes. PDP’s Firdous Ahmed Tak came third. He got a total of 997 votes.
Winner Shagun Parihar from Kishtwar (Who is Shagun Parihar) is pursuing a doctorate in electronics. On November 1, 2018, Shagun’s father Ajit Parihar and her uncle and senior BJP leader and then secretary Anil Parihar were shot dead by terrorists in Kishtwar of Jammu division.
Having lost his father and uncle, he stressed that this mandate is not just for his family but for the families of all martyrs in the region. Parihar expressed gratitude to the BJP for honouring the families of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country and the party.
