40 to 45 terrorists are active in Pir Panjal and Chenab valley area. These terrorists hiding in the forests are posing a challenge for the security agencies. Security forces are conducting a massive search operation to eliminate them. Every inch of the area is being searched, but the challenging conditions in these areas remain a challenge.
GOC of Army’s Northern Command, Lt General Prateek Sharma, on Wednesday reviewed the security situation in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts. He said that security agencies should strengthen coordination to eliminate terrorists.
Especially in the high mountain areas of Basantgarh, Chatru, the soldiers are more alert. The GoC reviewed these operations closely and emphasized on taking action against the terrorists with a precise strategy. He said that these three districts are in the Chenab valley and along with it lies the area of Pir Panjal.
At present, terrorists of Jaish and Lashkar are active on a large scale in the forests of Kishtwar and Doda.
Security forces are contacting them from time to time, but they are not getting caught. The GoC told the army officers to prepare a precise strategy to surround the terrorists so that if the terrorists are surrounded, they are not able to escape.
