Jammu, November 26:
Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla on Thursday claimed that BJP Govt has abandoned people with their problems related to the basic amenities during its nightmarish rule, saying the promises made during 2014 Parliamentary and Assembly elections proved just hoax. The former Minister was addressing huge public rally organized on the occasion of nomination of Congress DDC candidate Manohar Lal Mottan from Bishnah constituency. Prominent among those who addressed on the occasion include MK Bhardawaj, Shashi Sharma, Ashok Dubey Corporater Dewarka Choudhury, Corporate Shobat Choudhary, Kuldeep Gupta Kala Shah, Sarpanch Rajesh Sharma, Sarpanch Kailash Sethi, Panch Vinod Kumar, Panch Tilak Raj, Panch Joginder Kumar, Panch Raj Kumar, Panch Lucky Kumar, Aman Bawa, Vijay Targotra, S.Gurnam Singh, Rinku Kumar, Kalmosh Mottan, MR Puri, Janak Singh, Mr Tara, Mool Raj, Jatin Vashisht, Sunil Mangotra beside others.
While addressing gathering, Bhalla said that the poor-sections of the society are suffering a lot due to mis-rule of BJP Government at the Centre and state BJP leadership. He accused the BJP Government of befooling the people of J&K by its false claims of development. He said that BJP did nothing for the people except generating passions on religious and regional lines. He said the people have been living miserable lives during the past more than six years, with nobody addressing their problems. He said that present dispensation is turning a blind eye towards the apprehensions and concerns of people of the State, especially Jammu region. He said that the government in a bid to demonstrate its powers and authority had resorted to such undemocratic moves which was not in tune with the concept of liberal democracy.“The Congress party would fight for the genuine rights of the people in Jammu and Kashmir who have undergone numerous sufferings during the past six years,” Bhalla said and lashed out at BJP for its utter failure to respect the mandate of the people of Jammu. The developmental machinery came to a grinding halt and the utility services suffered major jolt due to the self-centred approach of the BJP leaders. The hope of inclusive development and political reconciliation were taken over by despair, as the self styled champions of the Jammu cause failed to satiate the urges and aspirations of people.
Former Minister alleged that every section of the society, including farmers, traders and government employees were fed up with this “anti-people” dispensation. He asked the people that if they want to mitigate their suffering they must come under the banner of Congress Party whose leaders have sacrificed their whole life for the upliftment of poor masses of India. BJP does not want to face the people in the assembly elections as it apprehends backlash over its anti-people decisions and policies which deprived the people of their identity and special rights to jobs and land,” he said. He also alleged that sensitive J&K State is facing the darkest period of its history with vertically split regions and society, on religion and caste lines, facing the ignominy of poor governance and utter neglect that flows from the so called strong BJP-led Government at the Centre to its participated State Government. He said the pitiable condition of border villages and their inhabitants is an index of what the BJP and its run Governments have done to the people and the country.
Even after six years of Narendra Modi Government at the Centre and three years of in J&K, the people of borders areas are yet to receive the much promised relief measures that included inhabitations in safe zones and proper education and health facilities for them during the days of unprovoked Pakistan firing. He lambasted Modi and State BJP leaders for spreading lies in the name of nationalism and patriotism. Apart from taking the enemy head-on patriotism and nationalism also means that the party and its run Governments should truly serve the people in distress and not make false promises to them, which has become order of the day.“In raising passions through invoking feelings of patriotism has become a handy tool in the hands of BJP leaders to divert attention from their Governments’ failure on all fronts including dealing with external dangers,” he observed.“India was stronger under the Congress Government. The borders are vulnerable and the residents of border districts have been facing the results of false policies of the BJP Govt in centre as well as in J&K. “The borders are not peaceful and the enemy country has increased its terror activities along the border. It is not only a threat to the nation, but also to the border residents. People are in fear and the authorities have turned blind eyes,” he said.
BJP leaders time and again befooled the masses in the name of development which is hardly visible anywhere in Jammu region. Appealing the voters to support party candidate from Bishnah, he promised that party will fulfill all their demands and will leave no stone unturned to bring development and prosperity in the area.Bhalla said that the BJP’s misrule and anti-people policies have given a big blow to the developmental activities in various parts of J&K taken up during Congress regime. He further said that BJP has not only deceived the people of J&K by making false promises in the name of development and progress but it has also betrayed the masses by snatching the statehood of historical J&K created and unified by the erstwhile Dogra rulers. He said that BJP is solely responsible for degrading the J&K state into two Union Territories for which the people will teach a lesson to the local leadership for their betrayal.Asking people to inflict a blow to the BJP in the DDC elections, former Minister appealed to them to extend full support to the Congress Party and its candidates in the hustings. Make Congress party victorious to ensure peace, prosperity and equitable development, Bhalla said.
Bhalla observed that BJP regime has antagonized all sections of people whether it is the youth, government employees, women or even children, this government has hurt every section of the society. Making a sketching attack on BJP, Bhalla regretted that people of the Jammu region are back stabbed by BJP leadership as the party has brazenly abandoned its core agenda and has adopted indifferent approach towards problems of the masses. Expressing his anguish over mounting problems of the common masses, Bhalla said that during last six years union govt has done nothing to solve basic problems of the people and added , “Claims of Gov are confined only on papers”.Bhalla said that the alarming unemployment, price rise of essential commodities, large scale disinvestment of public sector units, attack on social security system like pension, amendment in labour laws in favour of corporate, outsourcing, unbundling of Govt departments in a massive way with the abolition of permanent post has caused large scale resentment among the employees/ workers in almost all sectors.
