J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina today described Maharaja as symbol of Dogra dynasty and Dogra heritage. He stressed that Maharaja played an important role in accession of the State with India.
He was speaking while paying tributes to Maharaja along with J&K BJP General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul and J&K BJP General Secretary Adv. Vibodh Gupta at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
As per press statement issued to mercury times, Jammu & Kashmir, Bharatiya Janata Party, leaders remembered and paid tributes to Late Maharaja Hari Singh ji on his death anniversary in simple manner across the Union Territory of J&K.
Ravinder Raina said that Maharaja introduced many innovative thoughts for the welfare of public at that time. He said that Maharaja was a great reformer, visionary, a revolutionary and a patriotic ruler who forcefully established the idea of free India in First Indian Round Table Conference held at London. He termed Maharaja Hari Singh ji as a great visionary, philanthropist and a dynamic personality. He said that Maharaja was the last Dogra ruler of the State who was much popular among common masses.
Ashok Kaul said that Maharaja was a secular leader of masses in the true sense, who had established himself as a representative of all the regions and religions. He said that Maharaja undid many social evils prevailing in the society at that time and revolutionized the socio-economic picturesque of J&K.
Vibodh Gupta, said that Maharaja opened all public places including temples for everybody including the depressed classes, made primary education as compulsory, banned child marriage, smoking among the children and also outlawed the foeticide of female child.
