Jammu, October 24:
After the PDP openly supported the NC in the Rajya Sabha elections, such equations are seen to be formed that every vote has become important. Jammu and Kashmir has been losing and winning by one vote in the state elections in the past.
In the Legislative Council elections, there were two occasions when both the candidates got equal votes. But the decision was made to win and lose by slip.
After Sajjad Lone announced that he will not participate in the election, 87 MLAs are expected to vote in the election.
There is little hope that any of the 59 non-BJP MLAs will cross-vote. Independent MLAs are not obliged to show whom they are voting for while voting. Therefore, the NC will make every effort to ensure that all independent MLAs vote for its candidate.
Five out of seven independents are also supporting the NC in the government. At the same time, the BJP will also try its best to get two independent MLAs to vote in favor of their candidate. In view of this situation, every single vote has become precious. The margin of victory and defeat will also be one or two votes.
