Public participation is important in the proper implementation of JJM: Jasvir singh

Jasvir Singh, DDC Councillor Panchari Moungri inaugurated Kalsote and Moungri Schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Block Moungri of district Udhampur in presence of Sarpanch Savita Sharma, Naib sarpanch Shamsher Singh, members of Panchayati raj Institution and local residents of the area. While inauguration, he said that this central government sponsored scheme is of major public interest, and we have to take the benefit of the same to every single household of the rural areas.
In a statement issued to mercury times, he said that the government has sanctioned 14 projects under JJM for Panchari and Moungri to cover all the households for providing clean drinking water. 13 of these projects have been allotted to the contractors after the due process, and work has been started almost at all locations. These projects include Galiote, Badhota Sadota, Malti Latyar, Katti, Kultyar Bala, Panchari, Ladda, lali, Damnote Radhnote, Parand, Dubigali, Panjar , Kalsote, and Moungri projects .These projects of more than 100 crores will be dedicated to the public by the end of the current financial year 2023-24. There are still many areas where women have to cover long distances for collecting drinking water, and clean drinking water from tap is still a dream, but JJM mission is making a difference. While thanking the Union and UT government for this public welfare scheme, he appealed to the common masses to render full cooperation for the timely and effective implementation of the scheme to ensure the proper execution. He said that Panchayati raj has to play a big role in the proper implementation of this scheme.
He stressed that along with ensuring the clean drinking water to every household, we all have to work together for water conservation and ground water recharging to ensure the required availability of these resources to present as well as to coming generations as the issue is related to sustainable development goals also.
