Srinagar, May 6:
Srinagar Police on Tuesday demolished the illegally built house of a habitual drug peddler in Palpora Noorbagh area of Srinagar.
The police have identified the accused as Firoz Ahmad Sheikh, who hails from Zahidpora Hawal. He is currently living in Pamposh Colony, Palpora Noorbagh.
According to the police, the accused is involved in several cases registered under the NDPS Act at Police Station Khanyar and Police Station Safakadal.
During the investigation and verification, the authorities found that the structure was built illegally by occupying government land.
Further investigation also revealed that close associates and family members of the accused are allegedly involved in several NDPS cases in the Valley.
Acting on reliable inputs and completing all legal and codal formalities.
The complete sabotage was carried out in connivance with the concerned authorities as per law.
Citizens have also been appealed to join the fight against drugs to protect the society.
