Rajouri, June 15:
A person from Pir Panjal in Rajouri is being detained and interrogated. It is being told that the accused has allegedly helped the terrorists. Due to which he is being detained and interrogated by the police. The accused has been identified as Abdul Qayyom resident of Gambhir Muglan.
According to the information, Rajouri police took Abdul into custody on receiving information and interrogated him.
During interrogation, Abdul allegedly identified LeT commander Ilyas alias Asif alias Fauji and active terrorists linked to Yasir. These terrorists are believed to have been involved in major terrorist incidents in Rajouri-Poonch. It includes attacks in Bhatta Durian (20 April 2023), Kandi (05 May 2023), Topa Pir, DKG (21 December 2023), and Shahsitar (04 May 2024).
According to the information, during the interrogation of Abdul, it was revealed that the terrorist group had first contacted him around September/October 2024 to get food items. During the meetings later that year, he had also allegedly provided gas stoves, LPG cylinders, and 30 kg of rice. The terror group is said to have visited the house again in September/October 2025 and again took food and drink.
The terrorist group had reportedly contacted the man on May 18 and 19, 2026, ahead of the joint operations launched in the Dorimal-Sherowali-Kopra forest area on May 22, 2026. He is said to have provided dates, cashew nuts, almonds, juice bottles and medicines at that time. Some of these items were later recovered after the initial encounter with the terrorists on May 23, 2026.
According to the information, the accused Abdul denied knowing about the routes of movement, hiding places or hideouts of the terrorists in the surrounding forests. He also denied having any other local affiliates or support networks linked to the terror group.
