Srinagar, October 16:
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced on his Twitter account that he has spoken to the Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police (DGP) and directed that there should be no green corridors or traffic blockages whenever he travels by road.
“I have directed the DGP to minimise public inconvenience and also keep the use of sirens to a minimum. Any kind of lathi waving or aggressive gestures should be completely avoided. I am also asking my cabinet colleagues to set the same example,” Abdullah said.
Our behavior should be people-friendly. We are here to serve the people, not to inconvenience them.
This statement reflects the Chief Minister’s sensitivity towards the people and his efforts towards improving the administration. This initiative of Omar Abdullah is expected to bring relief to the public and it also shows the commitment of the government to give priority to the well-being of its citizens.
