Kupwara, December 12:
Scores of employees from different departments under the banner of National Movement for Old Pension Scheme (NMOPS) held a protest and submitted a memorandum vis-à-vis receipt of ‘meager’ amount of salary post their retirement.
The peaceful protest started from Range office Sogam and ended with submission of a memorandum to SDM Lolab.
Speaking on the occasion Tehsil President Lolab/Machil NMOPS, Arif Hussain Khan told the gathering that NPS is a disaster for state/UT employees who were engaged after the year 2010 in J&K, as their lives are in great darkness post the retirement. He said that the employees who drew a salary of rupees sixty thousand per month are now getting a meager amount of around rupees ten thousand after retirement under NPS which is sheer injustice.
He further said that NMOPS is national Movement for restoration of Old pension headed by Vijay Kumar Bandu at National level, Mohd Ashraf Shiekh at UT/State level and Mohd Iqbal Malik at District level and they are fighting for the genuine rights of employees working under NPS and they will leave no stone unturned to get their rights.
