New Highway: The distance of Jammu-Pathankot highway will be reduced by 90 KM from Pul Doda

Jammu, July 4:

The work of preparing DPR for the strategically important Lakhanpur-Basohli-Bani-Bhaderwah-Pul Doda National Highway is almost complete. This will prove to be an important link to connect Chenab Valley with Jammu-Pathankot National Highway as well as Delhi-Katra Expressway. In the proposed DPR, the distance is to be reduced by 90 km. In this, the distance of about 260 km of the current road connectivity is being reduced to 170 km. Winding roads will also be removed.

From Dhar Road near Balasundari, this highway will go directly to Sheetalnagar area via Mahanpur, from where it will be connected to the tunnel. There are many landslide prone areas on the present Basohli Bani road. Due to this, cases of road damage have been coming to the fore continuously.
