Buddhist religious leader Dalai Lama will now get Z category CRPF security. The Home Ministry has taken this decision after the report of the Intelligence Bureau (IB). A team of about 30 CRPF commandos will provide security to the Dalai Lama. Apart from this, Puri MP Sambit Patra has also been given Z category security in Manipur. Patra is the in-charge of BJP in Manipur.
The Union Home Ministry has directed the VIP security wing of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to take over the security of 89-year-old leader Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama will be protected by Z-category security cover of CRPF commandos in all parts of the country. Till now the Dalai Lama had a small security cover of Himachal Pradesh Police. When he used to travel to Delhi or any other place, he was provided security by the local police. The government has provided him a similar security cover after a review of central intelligence agencies.
