Manipur, February 20:
Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has urged the people of the violence-hit state to voluntarily surrender looted and illegally held weapons within seven days. The governor assured that no punitive action will be taken against them. However, he also said that strict action will be taken after the seven-day period is over.
The appeal issued by the Governor said, the people of Manipur in both the valley and the hills have been facing great difficulties for the last twenty months. He said that all the communities of the state should come forward to end the hostility. Maintain peace in the society, so that people can return to their daily activities. (Agencies)
