Management of killer Corona be done at war footing: Pathania

Colonel SS Pathania, (Retd) ,President Sainik Samaj Party ,JKUT expressed his deep anguish and concern over rapidly rising cases corona and deaths occuring as a fall out. Pathania urged honorable Lt governor and union government to address this issue on priority by constituting   appropriate measures, well in time before a catastrophe sets in. It is in public domain that requisite medical infrastructure  has been totally collapsed, and unless revived on emergency basis ,lot many valuable lives will be lost. Social media is abuzzed, with shortage of doctors, beds, oxygen, ventilators and para medic staff ,resulting in acute hardship of corona patients and their relatives. Jammu  district posing highest  number of patients in entire UT, is clearly indicating the gloom spread out. Honorable Lt governor is requested to look into following issues. A team from Delhi must visit Jammu province and give their recommendations, after assesing the situation on ground. Strict disciplinary action against the doctors and para medical staff, if dereliction towards duty is proved.Incresae the number of beds, ventilators and stocking of oxygen.Make up the deficiency of Doctors and para medical staff from Army, CAPF  and para military Forces. Requsitition of  hotels and railway coaches to enhance bed capacity. Order of opening of schools, must be revoked forthwith.Retired doctors and para medical staff, less than 65 years be taken in to ensure an effective medical care. Ruthless imposition of protocols of wearing of masks and social distancing with provision of exemplary punishments and high  fines. There is a likelihood of corona virus getting more severe in winter and our preparation must Factor this in our strategy of fight against corona. Pathania requested honorable governor to take necessary measures on war footing and even impose a lockdown of 15 days, to ensure that all measures are in place. He further requested, that in each covid hospital, some bed, with ventilators must be kept reserve for senior citizens as they are most vulnerable to corona virus. A fine balance between lives and livelihoods is very pertinent at this crucial time.
