Prominent Social Activist/Trade Union Leader M Altafdar Rajbagh On behalf of the residents living around old zero bridge, Foot bridge Armwari,Rajbagh, convent bridge here have urged the authorities to fence sides of the bridge to prevent suicides/drowning at the spot.
M Altafdar Rajbagh along with residents said that amid growing cases of suicides/drowning in Kashmir bridges across Srinagar are the primary points where such incidents take place.“ As reported Last week a girl student from Kupwara committed suicide after jumping into the river Jhelum from foot bridge Armwari, Rajbagh,” M Altafdar Rajbagh said.
“In past also there have been drowning deaths related to near by bridge,” said Dar.
Prominent Social Activist/Trade Union Leader M Altafdar Rajbagh said that even after reaching out to authorities regarding the fencing of the bridge, no solid step has been taken.
