Kranti Dal slammed centre and state governments for wiping out the business community from JKUT in a press conference held by Kranti Dal, President, Pritam Sharma at Nek Hotel, Jammu . It is all due to wrong policies of state and central governments. The downfall of business mainly started with the occurrence of Pulwama massacre followed by conversion of J&K state into union territory . The remaining left little bit business has been finished by COVID-19 pandemic and the resultant lockdown.
He further added the worst sufferers are hoteliers, shawls and dry fruit dealers , travel agents , taxi operators and others dependent upon tourism and till date loss is about of 3000 crores.
Further, Sharma added that tourists are not visiting J&K UT due to stoppage of trains by protesters in Punjab. As Navratras are coming but a little ray of hope of revival of tourist business vanished due to cancellation of three Katra bound trains. It is the sole responsibility of Government to run the trains smoothly by lifting the blockade at Punjab as per supreme court directions. In order to increase the inflow of tourists/ pilgrims in J&K UT, Government should either enhance COVID testing at Lakhanpur or open the border as in other states of India.
Kranti dal demanded package for business community and also asked union govt . to remove obstacles in JKUT with immediate effect. Other members present in the press conference were Rajinder Bhagat vice president, Vijay kumar Gen .Secy, Tarun Gupta Youth President, Sankul Gupta, Karnail chand , Pt. Ravi Sharma, Amit Menia,etc.
