Kathua police has successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovine by rescuing 06 bovines after arresting two bovine smugglers in the jurisdiction of Police Station Billawar.
Police told mercury times reporter that while performing routine vehicle checking duty at Ramkot area, police party led by Incharge Police Post Ramkot signaled a load carrier bearing registration number JK20B-0804.
During checking of aforesaid vehicle, 06 Bovines were found loaded in it, illegally. Meanwhile, vehicle was seized along with two accused were arrested. Thereafter, Police team was able to rescue 06 bovines on spot.
The arrested bovine smugglers have been identified as driver namely Ishtiaq Ahmed son of Mohd. Hussain, of Chaini Manwal and his accomplice namely Basharat Ali son of Mohd Sadiq of Bhaia Kumad Hiranagar.
A case FIR No. 75/2021 U/S 188/IPC,11/PCA Act has been registered in Billawar Police Station and further investigation has been set into motion accordingly.
