Jammu, October 3:
Wild boars crossing the fence from Pakistan into Indian territory have become a serious problem for farmers in border villages. This is a new challenge for farmers after the terrorist infiltration plot.
These pigs are destroying crops, causing huge losses to farmers. Driven out by Pakistani forces, several herds of hundreds of wild boars have entered Indian territory. A single herd can typically number 18 to 20 boars.
These wild animals have wreaked havoc in the fields near Sai, Devigarh, Jabbowal, Tareba, Changiya, Chanana, Pindi Kudwal, and others in the Arnia sector. They are devastating the flooded rice crops.
When farmers try to drive them away, they become aggressive and attack. Their terror is terrifying people. This has made it difficult for farmers to go to their fields.
A herd of 18 to 20 pigs crossed the barbed wire fence and entered Indian territory.
A farmer from Kotli Kazinya village, said, “I had gone to the fields to irrigate the paddy crop. When a wild boar attacked me, I had to climb a tree to save my life. I sat there for about an hour. After the boar left, I climbed down and returned home in fear.”
Conspiracy of Pakistani farmers…driving them away to save their crops. Here the villagers told that for the first time such a large number of wild boars have been seen entering the Indian territory.
Catching and killing of boars is prohibited in Pakistan. The flood has filled the forest areas across the border.
