J&K Assembly Election: ‘Will not let anyone interfere in the elections’, elections will be held soon in the valley, EC hints

Jammu, August 10:

The Election Commission has indicated that assembly elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir soon. The Commission’s team has found the current conditions favorable for elections during its two-day visit to the state. The Commission has made it clear that no internal or external force will be given a chance to disrupt the elections.

The Election Commission will soon decide on the dates of elections after reviewing the security requirements and security in Jammu and Kashmir with the security agencies in New Delhi. A decision on this can be taken after the Amarnath Yatra which concludes on 19th August.

The commission said, revised voter lists will be released on August 20 after the end of Amarnath Yatra. All eligible voters can register their names in the special summary revision process of the existing voter lists.
