Jammu, February 12:
There was rain in the plains of Kashmir on Tuesday and snowfall in the mountainous regions. Many other parts including Jammu also received drizzle in the morning. There were light clouds, but the weather cleared after noon. According to the Meteorological Center Srinagar, there may be rain and snowfall in some parts of the state on Wednesday.
Snowfall has occurred in Kashmir’s tourist places like Sonamarg, Gulmarg, Machhil, Z Gali, Sadhna Pass, Rajdhan Pass and some other upper areas. Due to mostly dry weather for the last long time, the day temperature is 3 to 6 degrees above normal. The night temperature has also improved in the valley.
The maximum temperature in the capital Srinagar was recorded at 11.5 and the minimum temperature at 2.1 degrees Celsius. The day’s mercury in Pahalgam was recorded at 11.0 and in Gulmarg at 1.2 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Jammu rose 4.8 degrees from normal to 25.8 and the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.6 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Banihal was 12.6, in Batote 14.9, in Bhaderwah 10.6 and in Leh 2.0 degrees Celsius.
