Srinagar, October 2:
The enthusiasm of voters in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday broke the cycle of separatist politics and wrote a new story of democracy in the state. There was a lot of enthusiasm among voters in all the seven districts from Kathua to Jammu to the international border and the Line of Control in North Kashmir.
Queues of voters started appearing at polling booths from the morning itself. Some arrived with bands and some left everything to join the celebration of democracy. According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, 69.21 percent voting took place in the third and final phase. There is no news of any kind of violence in the third phase.
There was no report of election boycott or terrorist violence anywhere in the entire constituency. In the third phase, the fate of 415 candidates on 40 seats has been sealed in EVMs.
