Jammu Kashmir Election 2024: BJP rebel leader Chandra Mohan Sharma will contest as an independent

Jammu, September 4:

Amid growing rebellion in the Bharatiya Janata Party over ticket distribution for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, senior party leader Chandra Mohan Sharma on Wednesday announced to contest the election as an independent candidate from the Jammu East constituency.

There is a lot of discontent in the BJP regarding ticket distribution since the first list was released. Leaders and workers are protesting in many districts of Jammu region.

Sharma, convener of the Tawi movement, told reporters here that on the demand of the people of my constituency, I have decided to contest the Assembly elections as an independent candidate from Jammu East region.

Chandra Mohan Sharma said that the BJP has not done justice to its senior leaders and workers. He visited various areas of the constituency to know the public sentiment about his candidature and said that most of the people have openly supported him.

He said there is widespread discontent among the people over various issues. They feel neglected. People want me to contest from here and have vowed to ensure my victory.
