Jammu Kashmir: Created ruckus after drinking alcohol; now will have to clean public places for ten days

Jammu, February 23:
Now those who create ruckus in public places in a drunken state will get a unique punishment. Instead of going to jail, they will have to clean religious or public places for several days. When the district police presented the accused in court in many such cases, the court ordered them to clean instead of giving punishment.
The latest case is from Sidhra area. Police arrested Lekh Raj and Ashok Singh, residents of Bajalta, for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. They were produced in the court of Special Excise Mobile Magistrate Jammu. The court gave them reformative punishment instead of sentencing them. Lekh Raj and Ashok Singh have been directed to do community service in the nearest hospital for one hour daily for 10 days.
