Jammu, February 6:
Terrorist activities have started gaining momentum again on the Line of Control in the district. There is a possibility of an increase in these activities due to lack of snowfall. Before snowfall, terrorists try to infiltrate in large numbers. Terrorist incidents have worried people amidst the ceasefire between India and Pakistan on the Line of Control for the last three years.
According to information, the Indian Army and other security forces remain more alert before snowfall in the border areas due to the nefarious designs of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI and terrorist organizations. Due to being an infiltration prone area, there are strict security arrangements on the India-Pakistan Line of Control in the district.
As a result, in December last year, security forces foiled an infiltration attempt in Gulpur Karmada sector of the district and killed two terrorists. This time there has been very little snowfall in the high altitude areas of the district. Due to this, most of the routes for infiltration are open for the terrorists and they have also got more time. Therefore, the efforts of terrorists to infiltrate have increased. Earlier terrorists used to try to infiltrate in late March and early April, but due to the harsh weather, their efforts have increased.
