Jammu, March 17:
The incident took place in Jammu near the on Monday night. An ex-serviceman was killed by unidentified assailants near Agricultural University. They slit his throat when he was returning after buying samosas from the market.
The deceased has been identified as Balbir Singh of Chatta Farm. The attackers fled after the incident. The police are investigating the case.
According to the information, Balbir Singh had gone to the market for some work at night. While returning from there, he bought samosas and took them in his hand. They had just reached the Agriculture University. Unknown assailants launched a deadly attack. The miscreants stabbed him on the throat with a knife so much that a fountain of blood burst from the throat. Balbir died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.
The accused escaped after committing the crime. It is being told that Balbir Singh was having a dispute with his wife. For this reason, he lived alone away from his wife. His brother and parents are residents of Poonch.
Balbir had been living in Chattha for a long time. On Monday night, locals informed the police after they found him lying in a pool of blood in the middle of the road. The team has gathered important evidence. The police have started to identify the killers and find out the reason for the incident.
The police have kept the body in the mortuary for post-mortem. On the information of the locals, the police have kept the investigation focused on the family dispute. First, efforts have been intensified to find the killers who carried out the incident. Also, the wife and children of the deceased have been called after informing them about the incident. CCTV footage installed around the spot is also being scanned to identify the killers.
