Jammu, February 5:
The Food and Civil Supplies Department has a target of distributing 100% ration through biometrics every month for Antyodaya, Primary Household and NPHH card holders. The department is forced to distribute offline due to difficult geographical conditions in some districts of Jammu division.
However, there is still a need for improvement here. A total of 2984 Sasta Ghalla shops are being operated in the district. Out of these, 2786 shops are distributing online through biometrics.
98 shops are distributing through offline medium. The effort of the central government is to ensure that ration reaches every family. The ration sellers cannot indulge in any kind of adulteration or corruption.
Metric tonnes of ration was allotted. Highest number of 54 ration shops are in Kishtwar where ration is being distributed through offline system. After that in Doda, Udhampur, Poonch, Rajouri, Kathua and Jammu districts, Jammu Rural I and II are there. Total number of Antyodaya card holders in the district is 77641.
Primary House Hold card holders is 679817 and number of NPHH card holders is 412549.
