Jammu, November 25:
Blood banks have been established throughout the Medical College and its affiliated hospitals. At least 250 units of blood are needed daily. A similar number of blood donations occur. Positive blood groups are the most in demand.
The Medical College, on the other hand, attempts to meet the need for negative blood groups based on demand. There are approximately 25 private hospitals in Jammu city that have their own blood banks.
The Medical College and the State AIDS Control Society have a list of people with positive blood types to help meet blood shortages among patients.
Among positive blood types, donors for O, A, and AB are easily available. But finding a donor with a negative blood type can be difficult.
