IPL 2026 Auction: Aaqib Dar joins Delhi Capitals for 8.40 crore, becomes the most expensive player from Jammu and Kashmir

The Jammu and Kashmir cricketer has created history in the mini auction of IPL Season 19. Baramulla fast bowler Aqib Nabi Dar was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 8.40 crore. It makes him one of the most expensive Indian players.
28-year-old right-arm pacer Aqib Nabi Dar has made his mark in the J&K circuit.

Especially for his ability to swing the ball in challenging conditions. Known for his discipline, accuracy and calm nature. Aqib has consistently won for Jammu and Kashmir in various formats.
His best performance was recently seen in the Ranji Trophy where he took 44 important wickets. Registered his name among the top wicket-takers in the country. The steady performances and impressive play against the teams caught the attention of IPL scouts and led to a bid for them in the auction.
Delhi Capitals have expressed faith in him and now all eyes are on Aqib’s performance in the IPL. In the past, J&K players such as Abdul Samad, Umran Malik, Parvez Rasool, Rasikh Salam, Yudhvir Singh, Mohammad Muhsir and Manzoor Pandav have also joined various franchises. Some of these players got more game time while some took advantage of the high level of training and experience despite limited opportunities.
