Jammu, May 1:
At many places in Uri sector of Baramulla, a border district of North Kashmir, Pakistani army has targeted the forward posts of Indian army with small arms. There are some villages where firing did not take place, but people there are alert. People here say that as soon as the news of firing comes, everyone is alert. They are praying that war-like conditions do not arise.
Tilwari village of Uri sector is situated on a hill about seven kilometers away from Uri town situated on the banks of Jhelum river flowing towards Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Dense green forests enhance its beauty. The people of the village live a normal life.
Farming and daily wage labour are their main occupations. The tension between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack has affected this village as well and people are living in the fear that there might be a war.
Local resident Rizwan Gilani said that our village is the last village of Uri sector. There was an atmosphere of peace here for many years. We were living in peace, but once again the Pahalgam incident has created tension between the two countries.
Although there has been no firing in our village yet, there is definitely fear. There was firing here before the year 2021, many lives were lost and houses were also damaged.
