Jammu, February 11:
Two army soldiers were martyred and one was seriously injured in an IED blast near the LoC in Akhnoor sector on Tuesday. After the blast, all three were admitted to the hospital for treatment. During treatment two were martyred, while one is undergoing treatment. One of the deceased was an army officer.
The army said that the blast took place during fencing in Laleli of Akhnoor sector. After the blast, the area has been cordoned off and a search operation has been launched.
Pakistan had committed a cowardly act a day before. After firing on the Indian Army’s patrol team in Keri sector on Monday. Now a sniper attack was carried out in Naushera sector. A soldier of the patrol team was injured by the bullet. He was admitted to the hospital.
On 8th February, Pakistani army had fired on Indian soldiers patrolling in Bartagala near the Line of Control in Keri sector. Pakistan had stopped firing after being given a befitting reply.
Pakistan opened fire in Keri sector on 2 September 2020. Army JCO was martyred in this. Earlier, a soldier was martyred in Pakistan’s firing in Naushera in August 2020.
